October updates
Here we are, last camp before North America is in the books and I am ready as never before! After our long and intense camp in Sweden, my boxenstop and kickoff in Sweden we were in Saas Fee Switzerland for another 10 days for the last preparations in Europe before we travel to the states and Cooper Mountain. Saas Fee was very successful. The camp before North America is always the most important one, everybody is getting in shape and the times are saying more and more if the summer training was well planned and if you have made your homework at the gym!I was pretty happy after those important days on the long skis, the timesheets did not lie and the coaches are happy with my skiing and so am I. I feel confident and strong, my heel is where it should be for “now” and the skis are already in the cargo to be shipped over to the US.
We were unlucky with the planning because I was supposed to be in Gothenburg for the Scanpack Fair with sponsor Logimark AB together with their crew. The plans for the national team had made it impossible and we had to put focus on the training and the last timeruns before the first races. I really hope to get a chance to attend another year. Logimark AB has really shown the believe in me an support me a lot.
Right now im doing my physical training at the gym and I am sitting on the ergometer and culling down my legs after a heavy legsession. Still some more days of this until we fly over on the 5.November. I will keep you guys updated from the other side of the world.
At the same time I want to welcome Veronica and Didrik in to my supporting staff back home in Sweden. They will support Patrik in his work with Team Alex Köll. I know you from before and I am really looking forward to work with you from now on. I hope to see you at Hahnenkammrennen this season.
The last couple of days in Austria I met one of the young skiers from Skåne that I am mentoring, Melanie Dahlberg from Landskrona Ski Club. Just recently started gymnasium (High School) in Malung for extremely talented skiers, 16 years old and one of the best in her age in Sweden. I really love her and her family´s dedication for skiing. That will make some results in the end. Go Melanie Go!
