A new beginning
My season ended very abruptly in Kvitfjell Norway with a heel fracture. Really bad. I wish it could have ended differently. I am really proud of and positive about the result I managed to score during the season, even though I chose to do my own set-up and not be a part of the National Team on a daily basis – but still competing for Sweden.
Of course this decision implied a few risks for me, but my skiing has developed in every way when I got to ski on the ”right” pair of skis. Now and then I beat World Cup racers in training but at competitions it is harder due to the high start numbers I have. But still, when I get it all together in competitions I will have a great chance.
With my set-up I managed to reach my personal best during the fall at two races in South America (Chile) and in USA. I was in really good shape with big confidence when the season started.
Unfortunately, I didn´t get the same chance like last year to compete in the World Cup, even though I was much better than the year before and had improved a lot. I was really disappointed because the information I got before the season from the association was that I would get the chance to race World Cup if I showed some good results.
For the upcoming season I have had discussions with Ski Team Sweden and they really want me to be a part of the squad for 2018-19. They have offered me good terms with a ski-brand (Atomic), which I really ski fast on. As the World Championship takes place in Åre, Sweden, in February 2019 – and as it is a huge challenge to have your own set-up, I am very happy to have found this solution.
So for the next season I am again a part of Ski Team Sweden. I really look forward to it and see great opportunities with the ”right” pair of skis and the support I need.
