Back in the saddle again!
Finally I’m back on skis again, after my heel fracture. In July I made my first runs down the slopes, as planned. It felt fantastic. Now when I am back as a part of the Swedish National Team, I really feel motivated to train a lot to be ready for the season.
Before I got out on the slopes I really worked hard with my training, with about 150 rehab-sessions from March to July, which helped me build both a strong body and a strong character.
In the beginning of July I was back home in Landskrona for some fun meetings and some marketing job. As part of my cooperation with the city of Landskrona I was participating in an interview at the big nation-wide “SM-veckan”. “SM-Veckan” is a summit where a wide number of different sports run their national championships – in the same week and at the same place.
It was a really well organized event with a lot of different sports to watch. And the city of Landskrona made a great job to plan and set it all up. The very same week I attended Landskrona’s Gala of Sport, where they hand out awards to successful teams, young athletes and professional athletes from the town. I was there to pick up a well-deserved prize for a young skier that I know, Melwin Dahlberg, because he couldn´t go himself and his family asked me to go.
The family Dahlberg is a true skiing family, where Thomas, the father, has a role in the Swedish Alpine Skiing Association. Their daughter Melanie is one of the best young skiers in Sweden for her age (16) and her little brother Melwin has done some really good results in skiing as well. I have known the family for many years and I have been kind of a mentor for the Dahlberg-kids – and I really love the family. Their passion for the sport is really impressive.
Well, I guess that’s all for now. Talk to you soon!
