Reports from Chile
Hola amigos,
Now I am back from 4 weeks training camp in the Chilean parts of the Andes. A very tough period physically and mentally. We actually lived and trained on almost 4.000 metres! A lot of positive things has happened but above all the most positive thing has been the way my body has recovered.
My rehab after the heel-fracture this spring up to where I am today has gone far better than I ever could imagine and a lot of people around me are surprised about that I have come so far. I naturally feel some pain in my heel once in a while when I race and train a lot on hard and bumpy ground but it is a pain that I need to get used to for some time.
I am also extremely happy about my material, my equipment with skis, boots and the cooperation with my service man is also running along very well. Our communication is really good and he starts to understand how I want my set-up and my tuning on the skis. My skiing improves all the time and actually feel that I have never been skiing better on a pre-season than this.
Of course it is a really early stage of the season but it feels really good considering for how long I was away from skiing due to my injury.
Today I went back to Sweden for some intense days, having a kick-off with my sponsors and friends and meeting a lot of supporting people and companies. I am overwhelmed with the support I get from you guys. Hopefully we can become even bigger. I would really love to race down Hahnenkamm this January with a lot of you guys waiting for me down by the goal-line. Patrik is organizing that trip for the 3rd time and I really hope I get the chance to race this season. Just let him know if you are interested in the trip. Then I know he is also looking for making a trip to Åre for the World Championship there. It is not easy but hopefully we can set something up.
I hope to see a lot of you at the kick-off on Thursday night. Then I will update you with the past, present and the nearest future.
Take care!
